European Classical Ballet presents the famous ballet fairy tale for adults and children, "The Nutcracker", on Sunday, November 30th, 2025, at 15:00, at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre.
"The Nutcracker" by Pyotr Tchaikovsky is one of the most famous and beloved Christmas ballets. It is based on the novella “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” by Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann, which describes Christmas Eve in a small German town.
Tchaikovsky composed wonderful and deeply expressive music for this fairy tale. He created a symphonic poem about childhood, the maturation of the soul, the wonders of Christmas night, the battle between light and darkness, and true love.
The spectacular scenery, costumes, and of course, the magnificent music create an atmosphere of magic and delight viewers of all ages. The grace and precision of the dancers of this outstanding international troupe bring to life the characters and emotions envisioned by the composer and choreographer. The lead roles will be performed by Iana Salenko – prima ballerina of the Berlin State Ballet and guest prima ballerina of the Royal Ballet (Covent Garden) – and Boris Zhurilov, soloist of the Hungarian State Opera.
European Classical Ballet consists of top ballet artists from European countries – England, Italy, France, Spain, the Netherlands, and Ukraine – who tour many cities around the world every year.
